Where to Find Your Account Number
Your account number is unique to your specific checking or savings account. You can locate it in any of the following places:
- Your checks— The account number is the second set of numbers printed along the bottom of your check, between the routing number and the check number.
- Online banking — Sign in at iounational-help.com/login, go to Account Details, and your full account number will be displayed.
- Mobile app— Open the IOU National app, tap on your account, then tap “Show Account Details.”
- Call support— A representative at +1 (888) 462-4968 can verify your account number after confirming your identity.
Completing Your Employer's Direct Deposit Form
Most employers provide a direct deposit authorization form. Here is how to fill it out:
- Bank name: IOU National Bank
- Routing number (ABA): 021000089
- Account number: Your full account number (see above)
- Account type:Select “Checking” or “Savings” depending on where you want funds deposited
- Amount or percentage: Choose to deposit your full paycheck or split it between accounts (for example, 80% to checking and 20% to savings)
Some employers accept a voided check instead of a form. If needed, you can print a “void” check from online banking under Account Services > Direct Deposit.
Government Benefits Direct Deposit
Federal payments including Social Security, SSI, veterans' benefits, and tax refunds can all be deposited directly into your IOU National account.
- Social Security and SSI — Sign up at godirect.gov or by calling 1-800-333-1795. You will need the routing number (021000089) and your account number.
- Tax refunds— When filing your federal or state tax return, enter IOU National's routing number and your account number on the direct deposit section of your return.
- Veterans' benefits — Update your direct deposit information at va.gov or by calling the VA at 1-800-827-1000.
Processing Times
After submitting your direct deposit enrollment, it typically takes one to two pay cycles for the change to take effect. During this transition period:
- You may still receive a paper check for one or two pay periods.
- Once active, deposits are usually posted by 6:00 AM ET on your scheduled pay date.
- IOU National offers Early Payfor eligible accounts — you may receive your deposit up to two days early when your employer sends the payroll file ahead of the pay date.
Troubleshooting
My deposit hasn't shown up yet
Confirm with your employer that they have processed the direct deposit with the correct routing and account numbers. If this is your first direct deposit, remember it can take one to two pay cycles to activate. If your deposit is late by more than one business day, contact us.
The deposited amount is wrong
Check your pay stub to confirm the net amount your employer sent. If you split deposits between multiple accounts, verify the allocation percentages. If there is still a discrepancy, contact your employer's payroll department first, then reach out to us if the issue persists.
I need to change my direct deposit account
Submit a new direct deposit form to your employer with your updated account information. Keep your old account open until you have confirmed that deposits are arriving in the new account. It may take one to two pay cycles for the change to take effect.
