Available 24/7/365 — no hold times for fraud reports.

IOU National will never ask for your password, PIN, or one-time code by phone, email, or text. If someone contacts you requesting this information, it is not us — hang up and call +1 (888) 462-7233 to report it.

How to Recognize Scams

Fraudsters use multiple channels to trick you into giving up personal or account information. Here are the most common techniques and how to defend against them.

Phishing (Email)

Fraudulent emails that impersonate IOU National, often with urgent language asking you to verify your account, confirm a transaction, or update your password through a fake link.

How to protect yourself

  • Check the sender address carefully — legitimate emails come from @iounational-help.com only
  • Hover over links before clicking to verify the URL
  • IOU National will never ask for your password via email
  • Forward suspicious emails to [email protected]

Vishing (Phone)

Phone calls from someone claiming to be IOU National support, requesting your account number, PIN, or one-time verification code. Caller ID can be spoofed.

How to protect yourself

  • Hang up and call us directly at +1 (888) 462-4968
  • Never share one-time codes or PINs over the phone
  • Our team will never call you to ask for your full password
  • If pressured to act urgently, it is almost certainly a scam

SMShing (Text Message)

Text messages claiming there is a problem with your account, asking you to click a link or reply with personal information. These may appear to come from a short code.

How to protect yourself

  • IOU National will never text you a link to log in
  • Do not reply to texts asking for account information
  • Report suspicious texts by forwarding them to 7726 (SPAM)
  • Block the sender and delete the message

How to Freeze Your Debit Card

  3. 3Select the debit card you want to freeze
  4. 4Toggle the "Freeze Card" switch to ON

Identity Theft Response Checklist

If you believe your identity has been stolen, follow these steps as quickly as possible to limit the damage and begin the recovery process.

  1. 1Call the IOU National fraud line at +1 (888) 462-7233 to report the incident and freeze affected accounts
  2. 2Place a fraud alert with one of the three credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, or TransUnion) — they are required to notify the other two
  3. 3Review your credit reports at annualcreditreport.com for any accounts you do not recognize
  4. 4File an identity theft report at identitytheft.gov (FTC) to create a recovery plan
  5. 5File a police report with your local law enforcement and keep a copy for your records
  6. 6Change your IOU National password and enable MFA if not already active
  7. 7Monitor your accounts daily for the next 90 days and report any suspicious activity immediately
  8. 8Consider placing a credit freeze with all three bureaus to prevent new accounts from being opened

Keep records. Document every call, report, and correspondence related to the identity theft. Note the date, time, representative name, and reference number. These records are essential if you need to dispute fraudulent accounts.
