Getting Started with IOU National
Welcome to IOU National Bank. Follow these six steps to set up your account and start managing your money with confidence.
Open Your Account
You can open an IOU National checking or savings account in whichever way is most convenient for you:
- Online — Visit iounational-help.com/login and select “Open an Account.” You'll need a valid government-issued ID, your Social Security number, and a funding source (debit card or bank account) for your opening deposit.
- By phone — Call +1 (888) 462-4968 and a banking specialist will walk you through the application. Phone applications typically take 10–15 minutes.
- In branch — Visit any IOU National branch with a photo ID and proof of address. A personal banker will help you choose the right account and complete the application on the spot.
Most online applications are approved within minutes. If additional verification is needed, we'll contact you within one business day.
Enroll in Online Banking
Once your account is open, set up online banking so you can manage your finances anytime:
- Go to iounational-help.com/login and click “Enroll Now.”
- Enter your account number and the last four digits of your Social Security number.
- Create a username and a strong password (at least 12 characters).
- Set up multi-factor authentication using your mobile phone or email.
- Review and accept the online banking agreement.
Online banking gives you access to statements, transfers, bill pay, alerts, and more — all from your computer or tablet.
Download the Mobile App
The IOU National mobile app puts your bank in your pocket. Download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play Storeby searching “IOU National Bank.”
- Log in with your online banking credentials.
- Enable Face ID or Touch ID for quick, secure access.
- Turn on push notifications so you never miss important account activity.

Set Up Direct Deposit
Getting your paycheck deposited directly into your IOU National account is the fastest way to access your money — and there are no check-hold delays.
- Routing number: 021000089
- Account number: Found on your checks, in online banking under Account Details, or by calling support.
Provide these numbers to your employer's payroll department. Direct deposit typically activates within one to two pay cycles.

Order Checks and Your Debit Card
Your IOU National Visa debit card is typically mailed within 5–7 business days of account opening. To order checks or request a replacement card:
- Debit card: Activate your card through the mobile app, online banking, or by calling the number on the sticker.
- Checks: Order personal checks through online banking under Account Services > Order Checks. Your first box is complimentary.
- PIN: Set or change your debit card PIN at any IOU National ATM or through the mobile app.
Explore Your Account Features
Now that your account is set up, take a few minutes to explore the tools available to you:
- Bill Pay— Schedule one-time or recurring payments to any payee.
- Zelle— Send and receive money instantly with friends, family, and businesses.
- Alerts— Set custom notifications for low balances, large transactions, and upcoming bills.
- eStatements— Go paperless and access up to seven years of statements online.
- Overdraft Protection— Link a savings account or line of credit to cover shortfalls automatically.
