Mobile Banking Guide
Bank from anywhere with the IOU National mobile app. Deposit checks, send money, manage your cards, and stay informed with real-time alerts.
Download the IOU National App
The IOU National mobile app is available for iPhone and Android devices. To get started:
- Open the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
- Search for “IOU National Bank.”
- Tap Download (or Install) and wait for the app to install.
- Open the app and sign in with your online banking username and password. If you have not enrolled in online banking, tap “Enroll Now” or visit our Getting Started guide.
The app requires iOS 15 or later, or Android 10 or later. Ensure your device software is up to date for the best experience.
Mobile Check Deposit
Deposit checks from anywhere using your phone's camera. No trip to the branch or ATM required.
- Endorse the back of the check by signing it and writing “For mobile deposit only — IOU National.”
- Open the app and tap Deposit on the home screen.
- Select the account where you want the funds deposited.
- Enter the check amount.
- Photograph the front and back of the check, ensuring all four corners are visible and the image is clear.
- Review the details and tap Submit Deposit.

Deposits made before 8:00 PM ET are typically available the next business day. Retain the original check for 14 days after deposit.
Zelle — Send and Receive Money
Send money to friends, family, and businesses instantly using Zelle, built right into the IOU National app.
Setting Up Zelle
- Open the app and tap Send Money with Zelle.
- Enroll using your email address or U.S. mobile phone number.
- Verify your contact information with the one-time code sent to you.
- You are now ready to send and receive money.

Money sent with Zelle is typically available to the recipient within minutes if they are already enrolled. Only send money to people you know and trust — Zelle payments cannot be reversed once the recipient has accepted them.
Push Notifications
Stay on top of your account activity with real-time push notifications. To set up alerts:
- Open the app and go to Settings > Notifications.
- Enable the alerts you want to receive. Available notifications include:
- Large transactions (customizable threshold)
- Low balance warnings
- Direct deposit received
- Bill pay reminders
- Security alerts (new sign-ins, password changes)
Make sure notifications are also enabled for the IOU National app in your device's system settings.
Card Controls
Manage your debit card directly from the app with these self-service tools:
- Freeze / Unfreeze — Temporarily lock your debit card if it is misplaced. Tap your card in the app and toggle the freeze switch. You can unfreeze it just as easily once found.
- Travel Notifications — Let us know when you are traveling so your card is not flagged for unusual activity. Go to Card Settings > Travel Notice and enter your destination and dates.
- Spending Alerts— Set alerts for transactions above a specific dollar amount. You will be notified instantly so you can spot unauthorized charges early.
- Transaction Category Controls — Block certain merchant categories (such as online gambling or international transactions) to add an extra layer of control over your spending.
Face ID and Touch ID
Sign in to the app faster and more securely using your device's biometric authentication:
- Open the app and go to Settings > Security.
- Toggle on Face ID (iPhone X and later) or Touch ID (older iPhones and supported Android devices).
- Confirm with your online banking password to activate the feature.
Biometric login is a convenience feature — your password remains active and can be used at any time. If your device does not support biometrics, you can also enable a six-digit app PIN.
